Why join Scouting? What is Scouting? How do I sign up?
This is the all-important night where the wonders of being a scout are shared with future scouts. It’s time to show what our pack has done. To show the boys just how much fun they could have in the enriching environment that is Scouting. They’ll be having so much fun they won’t realize that they are learning so much. At School Night you will hear the following: *The Cub Scout Promise and the Law of the Pack explain that these two components help remind a boy to do his best. They teach good citizenship and strengthen feelings about reverence and respect for God. *Learn about the Den. Boys like to belong to a group. In the Den the boys have fun in outdoor activities and field trips. The boys learn sportsmanship, good citizenship, how to get along with others, how to do their best for themselves and the den, boys learn new skills by trying new things. *Recognition is important to the boys. Explain that there is an advancement plan that gives the boys a sense of achievement as they earn badges. This strengthens family understanding as adult members work with the boys on their advancement. Family involvement is an essential part of the Scouting experience. *To bring FAMILIES closer Pack 128 makes every pack event a "Family Night" encouraging mom, dad, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, grandma, grandpa, friends to enjoy the evening. We even hold a yearly Family Campout. *To see a full list check the PACK Calendar for dates and times. Please Contact Our Cubmaster, Committee Chair or Public Relations Coordinator.
*Community Service Projects are something that Pack 128 feels are very important. Some examples are Scouting for Food, Posting Flags on the Veterans Graves three times a year, plant flowers, pick-up trash, and other tasks that the Pack is requested to do during the year. *Uniform: The uniform helps build pride, loyalty, and self-respect. It encourages good behavior and neat appearance. Most important to the parents that there are several ways to get the uniform. They can let the boy earn money to buy his own uniform. Or our Pack has a Uniform Exchange Program in place where the boy can receive an Experienced Scout Uniform. Or your parents and relatives may want to give the boy his uniform as a birthday present for example. Uniforms are something to work towards. *A Class A Uniform consists of a Cub Scout/Webelos Scout Shirt, Neckerchief & Slide, Cub Scout Belt, and optional Cub Scout Hat. Pack 128 does not require boys to purchase Cub Scout pants/shorts, but the Pack does require boys to wear dark colored jean pants/shorts with no rips or tears.
